Bunk bed with stairs means a pair or more of narrow beds stacked one bed frame on the top of the other. It is suppose to allow two or more people to sleep in the same bed room while maximizing available floor space for activities. This kind of bed can be found in the kids bed room, military camp, university dorm, prison, motels and else. The function of the stairs is to connect between lower bed with upper bed. Lower beds are normally supported by four pillars, and upper beds usually surrounded by a railing to prevent the sleeper falling out to the floor while sleeping. These two beds are connected with a ladder/stairs.
The Safety Using Bunk Bed with Stairs
Even it is safety enough to buy your kids a bunk bed for their bed room, you must considering about your kids age and attitude. A normal upper bunk bed is surrounded with a railing, and since the bunk bed system are using stairs to reach the upper bed, make sure your kids is above 6 years old and already know how to be careful when she or he on the upper bed. Also if you want to use it for yourself or maybe opening a motel with bunk bed system, reassure the strength and height of the upper bed. Of course we don’t want something bad happens to our kids, family, or clients. Still, don’t worry about the regulation of making a bunk bed, there are so many rules and tests that has to be passed, like from International Organization of Standardization (ISO).
Types of Bunk Bed
Seems like everything I knew is only 3 types of everything. I should read another book I guess. Ok, skip that. There are 3 types of bunk bed, which are standard bunk bed, loft bed, and triple loft bed. Let’s we discussed one by one. A standard bunk bed, as we already know, has two same size mattresses stacked one directly over the other. In the standard type, there are several option of bunk bed types, a twin over full bunk bed which is the lower bed’s size is a full size, and the upper bed’s size is a twin size. There is a futon bunk bed, which is the lower bed originally a futon couch that can be converting in to a bed. The last one, there is the L-shape bunk bed which creates a small alcove where a desk or bookshelf can be placed. Types number two, there is a loft bed. This is a bit weird though but maybe comfortable enough if you are not afraid. This type only has the top bunk, connected straight to the wall, with a built-in storage capacity or other features. Maybe it will cost you much more but it is perfect for a minimalist house. The third one is triple loft beds that arrange a total of three bunks. This type is a combination, which means you can ask it to your interior designer. I think it is a bit rare in the ordinary furniture shops.
